2022:
This is my third year exhibiting at Township Coffee and you can really see how my collection has grown throughout the years! When I first started drawing, I didn’t really have any intention of selling my artwork or showing it to the public. It was Erik, the owner of Township, who encouraged me to put my art up and I was just blown away by the interest and support I received! I’m always so honored when Erik lets me put up all my artwork there - it’s so fulfilling to see it all hung up side by side! Can you believe I fit 64 prints on the wall this year?! 
2021:

I began drawing Our Favourite Places when my Mom transitioned into hospice care after battling ovarian cancer for five years. In the final month of her life, I scrambled to draw all of our favourite places to show her how much I cherished our time together. I drew our favourite restaurants, coffee shops, parks, grocery stores, anything that would remind her of a happy time. She passed away in December of 2019, and I continued illustrating all of our favourite places as I grieved.

Growing up in our family restaurant in downtown Victoria gave me a deep appreciation for how much work owners put into making their restaurants feel like home. I spent my childhood next to my Mom as she rubber cemented restaurant menus together, sewed beautiful serving aprons or shopping for trinkets to put in our window display. There are a billion little touches that go into making each and every restaurant so special, and it is so rewarding to try to capture them!

I did not plan on doing anything with my artwork until Erik, the owner of @townshipcoffee , encouraged me to display some of my illustrations in his shop in May of 2020. I was absolutely blown away by the support from our community and even more eager to share some of my family’s favourite haunts! It brings me a lot of joy to share with you some of my favourite places I’ve drawn. 
2020:
Township has been a family favourite since they moved in down the street from us! When my brother would visit over the holidays from Hong Kong, he'd always wake up early from jet lag but luckily had a place close by for a snack. My moms favourite was the sausage rolls or an affogato on a hot summer afternoon. When mom entered hospice, I wanted to bring a little bit of our neighborhood and home to her. These illustrations are a labour of love, of wanting to capture the feeling of home!
Erik, the owner of Township, has been so supportive and encouraged me to put up my artwork on his walls. It was a wonderful experience, and really helped encouraged me to share more! I sometimes get so wrapped up in drawing that I forget to show off the art I've been making, but it has been so rewarding connecting with the community.
