Postcards for Sale at Dumpling Drop – Proceeds to the Alzheimer Society of BC

A huge congratulations to Tarn who was recently named Best New Business by @victoriachamber! I feel really inspired after reading an article she wrote for CBC titled “My mom's memory is failing. But rolling dumplings is something she can do intuitively”. Tarn talks about how her Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers a few years ago and they began making dumplings together every Friday night after the doctor mentioned that fine motor activity would help prevent symptoms. It wasn’t long until they began selling the excess, and Dumpling Drop was born! Growing up in a restaurant myself, I always connect strongly to stories about food bringing people together. In my family, food is a driving force that unites us - allows us to share knowledge as we cook together and one another's company as we nourish ourselves. Tarn sums it up beautifully as she writes ““Dumpling Drop has given me and my family the gift of time with my mom, and that's all that really matters to us now. It goes to show the healing power of food.” 🥟
.
If you haven’t had @dumplingdrop before, go out and TREAT YOURSELF (you deserve it)! They even have a vegan option! You can visit them downtown or I’ve seen their frozen dumplings & DELICIOUS chili oil at @fisgardmarket @rootcellar @peppersfoodsvictoria @rockbaymarket ! 🤤 And pick up a postcard while you're there - all proceeds go to the Alzheimer Society of BC!
