I had so much fun drawing this little wonky view of the Breakwater! Our family would always walk all the way to the end of the Breakwater to the lighthouse and look for otters or starfish along the way before stopping in at the Breakwater Cafe for tea and shepherd’s pie. My Mom would insist on driving home the longer and more scenic ocean front way, and I’d more often than not fall asleep in the car. I am so glad that there are railings here now and more of our community can enjoy the view, but I do miss scrambling all over the rocks like I did as a kid. That’s why I couldn’t help but draw both versions: the view now, and the way I remember it looking when I was younger!
